Assistant Principal's Bio

La Tasha Phariss

I am honored and excited to be a part of Lexington ISD as the LES Assistant Principal and look forward to being a part of this great community. I grew up in a small community in West Texas, just south of Lubbock, Texas, and graduated from Lubbock-Cooper back when all three of our campuses were within walking distance of each other.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Mathematics from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi, and my Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. I began my teaching career in 2003, teaching middle school grades 6-8. My family moved to Round Rock where I taught 5th grade for 3 years and served as the math specialist/interventionist for a year before moving to Burleson ISD and serving as math specialist/interventionist for 3 years. Prior to joining Lexington ISD, I spent 13 years at Lago Vista ISD, as a 5th grade teacher for 3 years, then as the math specialist/interventionist for the remaining time where I was able to serve as an educational leader and instructional coach, the Admin Designee, and campus testing coordinator.

Although I have always been dedicated to my calling to education and my role within it, my family is my world. My husband, Cory, and I have 3 adult children. Our oldest is married and the mother of our first granddaughter, who is 2 and a half. We love our sleepovers with her. Our son is a Junior at Texas Tech University. Our youngest just graduated high school and she will be attending Texas Tech in the fall. We love movies, playing games, camping in our trailer, going to the beach, and traveling. I am so excited to be joining the LES team and the Lexington community!
