Assistant Principal's Bio

Hi there, my name is Kayla Shadwell and will be serving as the new LES Assistant Principal.  I am beyond excited to be here and am looking forward to meeting all of our families at LES.   I received my bachelors from Texas Woman’s University in Family and Consumer Science and a masters from University of Texas at Tyler in Educational Leadership.  I am originally from East Texas (Troup, TX) and come with 14 years of public education experience.  My past roles include, Family and Consumer Science , DAEP, Behavior, Special Education, ARD/504 Facilitator, and Testing Coordinator.  I am married and we share 3 adult children together.  My husband is also in education and serves as the Lieutenant for Bastrop ISD Police Department.  I have always had a strong calling to serve in education and to make a difference in as many lives as possible.  I am truly looking forward to getting to know each and everyone of you this upcoming year!
